Immersive VR Flying Experience | Riyadh Stadium Infrastructure Showcase

Client: SBM (Saudi Business Machines) | Year: 2024 | Category: VR Experience • Event Activation • Infrastructure Visualization

Project Overview:

Metas developed VR Vitruvian for SBM at LEAP 2024, delivering a high-impact, immersive VR flying experience over Riyadh. The simulation culminates in a futuristic stadium environment, allowing visitors to explore complex infrastructure systems interactively. The project combines gamified exploration, intuitive UI/UX design, and motion-based simulation to engage attendees while clearly communicating SBM’s capabilities.

Project Goals:
  • Captivate visitors in a crowded, high-traffic event environment.
  • Showcase infrastructure and physical security systems in a visual, explorable format.
  • Simplify complex system understanding through interactive simulation instead of technical explanation.
The Experience:
  1. Flying Tour Over Riyadh: Users soar above the city in a superhero-style flight, navigating key viewpoints for immediate engagement.
  2. Stadium Finale: The tour transitions into a detailed stadium environment where visitors explore infrastructure layouts, systems, and components through guided, interactive flow.
  3. Vitruvian Integration: The experience is built for Vitruvian VR’s mechanical and gyroscopic system, providing realistic motion-based simulation while ensuring safety and control for event use.
Scope & Deliverables:
  • Concept and experience design with gamified flight narrative and discovery flow.
  • Full integration with Vitruvian mechanical/gyroscopic system.
  • Interactive UI/UX optimized for first-time users in high-traffic environments.
  • Engaging interactive elements to enhance retention and visitor participation.
  • Stadium infrastructure showcase highlighting critical systems and layouts.
  • Fully developed VR gamification experience, including UI design and implementation.
  • Documentation for interactive elements and challenges.
