Anghami Verse

Immersive VR Streaming & Live Entertainment Ecosystem

Project Type: Competition Project • Immersive Simulation • Metaverse Concept Category: VR • Digital Twin • Metaverse • Interactive Experience • Music & Entertainment

Project Overview:

Anghami Verse is a speculative metaverse concept designed to transition the Middle East’s leading music platform into a VR-native environment. Developed as an architectural and experience-led competition project, it explores how a local brand can establish a credible, identity-driven presence within global virtual worlds. The project shifts the music experience from passive listening on a 2D screen to an active, spatial journey where users inhabit the music through immersive discovery, social interaction, and 360-degree live events.

The Problem:

Traditional brands often struggle to translate their value into the metaverse without appearing generic. This project addresses three critical challenges:

  • Brand Credibility: How can a company like Anghami build a virtual presence on platforms like Meta while maintaining its cultural and brand DNA?
  • Digital Commerce: How do you design a virtual storefront that effectively streams and sells original content, including NFT-style collectibles?
  • Engagement Fatigue: How do you transform “pressing play” into an interactive, high-retention experience that users want to return to?
The Solution:

Anghami Verse proposes an environment where the app behaves like a world rather than a menu. The solution integrates:

  • Mood-Based Environments: Virtual spaces that visually morph based on the genre or emotional tone of the music.
  • VR-Native UI/UX: A streamlined flow optimized for spatial navigation: Search → Explore → Stream → Library.
  • Social Presence: A community-first approach where fans can attend events together, bridging the gap between digital streaming and live social connection.
Core Experience Features:
  1. Interactive Music Discovery: Users move through “Genre Worlds”—immersive landscapes where music is discovered through exploration rather than scrolling, turning discovery into a sensory journey.
  2. 360-Degree Live Concerts: The platform hosts VR live shows for global stars and emerging talents. A flagship concept within the project includes heritage-style performances (e.g., a 360-degree virtual Umm Kulthum concert), blending cultural legacy with futuristic technology.
  3. Personalized “Home Base” Library: A private virtual space for users to store their collections, playlists, and digital assets, acting as a familiar sanctuary within the vast metaverse.
  4. Gamified Interaction: Integrated features such as interactive karaoke and “Live Rooms” where new talents can perform and build virtual fanbases.
Business & Growth Strategy:
  • Scalable Audience: Segmented experiences for Youth (social/discovery), Adults (classical/focused listening), and Kids (safe/guided environments).
  • Revenue Streams: A hybrid model consisting of digital memberships/subscriptions, in-world advertising, and ticketed virtual events.
  • Adoption Path: Leveraging the existing Meta ecosystem and partnerships with the gaming industry to onboard influencers, artists, and early adopters.
Why This Concept Matters:
  • Arabic-Forward Innovation: The first comprehensive vision for an Arabic music-streaming ecosystem in VR.
  • Cultural Preservation: Uses 360-degree technology to revive and preserve musical heritage in a way that appeals to younger, tech-savvy generations.
  • Responsible Design: The concept proactively addresses metaverse risks (such as social isolation or digital addiction) by proposing moderation tools and healthy engagement controls.
Summary:

Anghami Verse demonstrates Metas’ expertise in bridging the gap between traditional digital services and the metaverse. By creating a world that feels like a place but functions like an app, we provide a blueprint for brands to achieve sustainable profitability and cultural resonance in the next generation of the internet.
